The Financial Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial records and processes. This role supports organizational effectiveness by managing accounting functions, overseeing donor and sponsorship payment activity, preparing financial reports, and maintaining strong internal controls.
The position plays a central role in financial stewardship by coordinating across finance, donor relations, and sponsorship operations teams to ensure that donations and sponsorship contributions are properly recorded, reconciled, and reported. The Financial Coordinator also supports strategic financial planning, audit preparation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Financial Management & Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget, support financial planning and cash flow management, prepare T3010 Charity Return to CRA, file GST rebate to CRA, etc.
· General Ledger & Reconciliation: Maintain the general ledger, monthly bank reconciliations, reconcile payroll taxes, GST, WCB, and other statutory accounts, etc.
· Accounts Payable & Receivable: Verify, code, and post invoices into accounting systems; process electronic payments; review aging reports; administrate company’s credit cards, etc.
· Donation Processing & Banking: Process donations, record transactions in CRM and accounting systems, prepare and reconcile bank deposits, list unfulfilled donations, etc.
· Payroll & Benefits Administration: Process payroll for staff, T4s and administer employee benefits such as extended health and RRSP contributions.
· Income Tax Receipting: Prepare and issue official donation receipts in compliance with CRA regulations.
· Audit & Compliance: Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational financial policies.
· Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Monitor internal controls related to financial transactions and donor payments.
· International & Program Financial Coordination: Coordinate monthly transfers to international partners and programs; review accountability and financial reports from partner countries; maintain communication with partners regarding financial reporting requirements and give direction to the international partners/agents.
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
· Knowledge of nonprofit financial practices and donor-funded program structures.
· Familiarity with payroll administration and statutory compliance.
· Understanding of internal controls and audit processes.
· High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial tracking.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and donor information.
· Ability to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
· Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
· Accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks); Donor and CRM systems; Payment processing platforms (e.g., Stripe); Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); Online banking platforms, etc.
· Office-based role with significant computer-based work.
· Periods of increased workload during month-end, year-end, and audit cycles.
· Regular interaction with internal staff, auditors, financial institutions, and program partners.
· Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field.
· Minimum 3–5 years of relevant financial or accounting experience.
· Experience in a nonprofit environment is an asset.
· Experience with payroll and donor-funded financial systems preferred.

The Social Media Coordinator supports ChildCare International’s mission by contributing to both communications and sponsorship administration efforts. This role combines creative storytelling and research with hands-on support for materials that connect sponsors and supporters with children and programs.
In addition to supporting marketing initiatives, the Social Media Coordinator plays a key role in preparing and maintaining children’s printed records, ensuring information is accurate, up to date, and presented with care. Working collaboratively across departments, this position helps ensure that communications—digital and print—are consistent, timely, and aligned with organizational values and goals.
According to your expertise and areas of interest, your Key Responsibilities are:
Research
Research and recommend effective strategies for child sponsorship promotion.
Benchmark campaigns, products, and projects from peer organizations and relevant sectors to inform marketing initiatives.
Website Support
Research and compile program and project data for website use.
Update website content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and visual quality (data, photos, and messaging).
Assist in developing and updating outreach or communication templates.
Planning
Contribute to the development and implementation of the 2026 Marketing Plan.
Support campaign planning through content preparation and scheduling.
Children’s Printed Records
Create, update, and prepare children’s printed records for distribution.
Coordinate preparation and mailing of materials as required.
Stories & Content Creation
Create and edit stories using the latest available information.
Ensure stories are mission-aligned, accurate, and suitable for donor and supporter audiences.
Social Media
Create social media content for future use, including:
Special days and international observances
Country-focused content
Thematic topics
Organize content for efficient scheduling and reuse across platforms.
