We're celebrating 10 years of working with our current partners in The Philippines. Find out how one girl's life has changed through sponsorship.
Meet Shaine, a happy 17-year-old who lives in Cebu, The Philippines, with her grandmother, mother and two sisters.
Life has not been easy for her. When she was only 9, her father left their family. He struggled with addiction and was not able to provide for them, leaving them to face difficult times.
Shaine’s future looked bleak.
But everything changed when a local ministry came to their area and shared about opportunities for child sponsorship through ChildCare International.
Shaine with her family and friends.
Our partners in The Philippines invited Shaine’s family to a Bible study, where they learned about God.
Shaine found peace for the first time. She began reading the Bible, memorizing verses, and slowly, the pain in her heart started to fade.
The sponsorship program provided Shaine with more than just financial support.
It opened doors for her to learn and grow. She gained hope, knowledge and skills that are helping her build a brighter future.
Shaine now focuses on giving back to her community.
Shaine now tutors young children.
She participates in feeding programs, offers tutoring and mentors younger children whenever she can. Last summer, she even helped run a tutoring program for children to improve their reading and writing.

Shaine’s story is a testament to the power of sponsorship. It’s not just about financial support — it’s about giving children like her the tools to overcome hardship and create a brighter future.
Her story is one of hope, perseverance and the lasting impact of people who care.
Thank you for your role in giving children, like Shaine, a chance for a better future.
Five families of sponsored children in The Philippines have lost their homes after a fire recently swept through their area in Mandaue City.
Thankfully, our partners have been on the ground handing out food packages and offering relief to the families whose homes were burned to the ground.
Please pray for these families who have lost everything, leaving them helpless during these trying times.
If you wish to help those affected by this devasating fire, please give to our Where Most Needed fund and clearly mark that your donation is "Help for The Philippines".
