The Yavins Education Centre was launched in 2020 with the mission of providing basic education for orphans, children with disabilities and children from low-income families — many of whom would otherwise be unable to access schooling.

Samson says the need for the centre became clear when they saw a troubling number of young people dropping out of school due to poverty, only to fall into drug use and other criminal activities.

Yavins Education Centre provides schooling that sparks curiousity in children. It aims to help them become responsible students who care about their community and protect each other.

The centre also offers a curriculum that promotes children's talents, helps them succeed, and teaches them discipline and respect for God.

Achievements

Yavins started to take shape when 30 acres of land were donated to build a permanent building, moving the school from a makeshift structure that was exposed to the elements.

With help from generous supporters who donated to the project through ChildCare International, a new school was built, including water harvesting tanks.

Today, 40 of the 200 enrolled students are sponsored through ChildCare International. They benefit from quality education, clean water and two meals a day at the school.

In addition, crops have been planted as a sustainable food source for the school.

A special thank you to everyone who has helped make the dream of Yavins Education Centre become a reality!

Your generosity is improving the quality of education and safety for these precious children and their community.

Future Plans

The school plans to build a fence to keep students safe. They also want to grow more crops like corn and beans and incorporate a poultry house to promote a new level of self-sustainability in teaching, adventure, food-source and income for the school.

The school plans to start an arts and crafts club, where students can create and sell artwork to support school activities.

At some point, they also hope to provide playground equipment for young children as well as hire a school nurse.
