Since 2016, CCI has sponsored children at two schools in Rwanda. One is in the capital of Kigali and the other near the Tanzania border. This support has proven invaluable in providing education to at-risk children and easing financial burdens for their parents and guardians. Some of the struggles for many children in the country include malnutrition, poor water and sanitation facilities, and access to early childhood education. Since Rwanda gained its independence in July 1962, the country has been rocked with political turmoil, including the genocide of 1994 which killed nearly 1 million people. Since then, the resiliency of Rwandans is clear, and CCI is proud to be supporting the next generation of students.
